If you’re someone who relies heavily on your iPhone throughout the day, whether for work, gaming, or content creation, you know how quickly it can heat up during extended use. That’s where the Benks Biliz MagSafe Cooling Wireless Charger steps in. Designed to combine the convenience of wireless charging with active cooling, this accessory promises to keep your device powered and at an optimal temperature. After spending time with it in real-world conditions, I put it to the test to see if it lives up to the hype. Here’s my experience with the Benks Biliz.
I recently acquired the Benks Biliz cooling wireless charger to help with my heavy smartphone use, and I’ve been genuinely impressed. From the moment I unboxed it, the Benks Biliz felt solid and well-built. It’s roughly puck-sized (about 61 × 61 × 23 mm) and weighs around 80 g. The case is sturdy plastic (PC+ABS with metal and magnets inside) and has subtle RGB lighting around the edge. The RGB lights aren’t just for show – you can turn them on or off – but I often keep them off to stay focused. The Benks Biliz ’s build quality felt sturdy, with no wobbly parts or creaks. In short, it feels robust enough for daily use, whether on my desk or in a bag.
Expectation and Quality
One of the first things I noticed was how strong the magnets are. The Benks Biliz is MagSafe-compatible, and when I snapped it onto my Samsung S25 Ultra (with a MagSafe case), it held my phone very firmly. Benks advertises a “strengthened magnetic core” for “powerful attachment” and in use I found this to be true – I could lift the phone off the table by holding it attached to the Benks Biliz without it slipping (Tip: It’s best used with MagSafe, as the manual notes that non-MagSafe cases can weaken the hold and reduce charging speed.) The magnets also make alignment effortless: snap to your MagSafe case or iPhone and you’re instantly aligned for charging, cooling, or both.
The key selling point, of course, is that it cools AND charges. The Benks Biliz has a built-in fan and a semiconductor (Peltier) cooler. According to official specs, the “semiconductor cooling with 7-blade fan delivers ultra-fast cooling” and can slash your phone’s temperature in just a few seconds. In practice, I did notice my phone get noticeably cooler very quickly. During a gaming session on my S25 Ultra, I felt that the Benks Biliz’s backplate and the phone’s case stayed much cooler than if I had just charged normally. The fan kicks in instantly in “cooling” mode, and in my experience, it truly does draw heat out efficiently. I rarely see my phone get uncomfortably warm anymore, even under heavy use. Of course, if you blast the fan on “full” constantly, you might start to hear it, but Benks claims it’s “ultra-silent” and in normal charging+cooling mode, I found it barely audible unless the room is dead silent.
When it comes to charging speed, the Benks Biliz is also top-notch. It supports up to 15 W wireless output, which is on the fast end of wireless charging for MagSafe devices (iPhones top out at 7.5 W, while some Android phones can get the full 15 W). With an iPhone, for example, using a recommended 20 W USB-C power adapter, the Benks Biliz would charge the phone from, say, 20% to about 50% in roughly half an hour. That’s significantly faster than most basic Qi pads. With a Samsung S25 ultra, an Android phone that can handle 15 W, I saw very quick charging, it certainly felt faster than half an hour. In short, it lived up to the promise of rapidly cooling and charging your phone simultaneously. I should note that this charger does rely on an external power brick – it isn’t standalone. Unlike Razer’s Phone Cooler (which requires USB power and doesn’t even charge your phone), the Benks Biliz is a wireless charger too. The flip side is that you do need a decent wall adapter (20 W or more) for full speed. Fortunately, I already had a 20 W USB-C PD adapter handy.
Modes and Usage
The Benks Biliz is pretty user-friendly. There are three modes (cooling only, charging only, or both at once) which you can switch between with small buttons placed on top. I mostly left it in combined “cool + charge” mode, but occasionally I put it in “cool only” to pre-chill the phone’s surface before a heavy gaming session. The RGB ring around the charger simply lights up (blue/green/red cycles by default) when the fan is active, which is a nice visual feedback if you want it. The RGB isn’t flashy enough to bother me; in fact, I often kept it on. In any case, having the lights or not is easy to control via a touch button on the charger.
In terms of build and feel, the Benks Biliz is quite good. The plastic shell feels dense and well-molded. The unit is light enough to stick to my phone via its magnets without feeling like I’m holding a heavy weight, but it also doesn’t feel flimsy in my hand. Every aspect felt well-engineered. For example, the strong magnet core makes attachment a breeze, and the fan blades spin up smoothly (I never had to worry about it getting stuck or making a rattling noise).
I should compare it briefly to other cooling accessories I’ve tried. Many iPhone gamers know about Razer’s Zephyr/Chroma cooler – that’s a nice gadget, but it only blows air and doesn’t charge your phone at all. You have to plug it in via USB-C, and it’s strictly a cooler. By contrast, the Benks Biliz combines both roles: it actively cools and wirelessly charges in one package while the Razer cooler’s drawback is needing a separate power source and no charging; with the Benks Biliz, you just have one cable and you get power to your phone too. I’m also aware of other third-party MagSafe fans (some cheaper knockoffs), but many of those max out below 10 W or don’t have a semiconductor chiller, so they can be slow to cool or only trickle-charge. The Biliz, with its 15 W capability and Peltier module, feels like a more complete solution.
On the plus side, I love how the Benks Biliz kept my phone cool even when running a demanding game or navigation app for a long time. I noticed noticeably less thermal throttling – my phone stayed at a lower temperature point compared to regular wireless chargers I’ve used. It also charged faster than any MagSafe puck I’ve tried, which was a big improvement for me when I needed a quick top-up. The silent fan means I can keep it next to me without a distracting whir (during gaming or in a call). The magnets and build quality give me confidence that it won’t fall off or break easily. And the RGB lighting, while not a necessity, adds a bit of style if you’re into that.
My Final Thoughts
In comparison to similar products, the Benks Biliz sits in a sweet spot of performance and value, at the time of this review it is currently $45.99 on sale. Normally it is $52.99. It’s not cheap, but it’s much less expensive than the Razer unit(59.99) and offers more features. There are simpler MagSafe fans, but none I’ve seen charge as fast or have this level of thermal management. If you’re looking for a do-it-all MagSafe puck that truly stays cool, the Benks Biliz has impressed me.
All in all, my take is very positive. The Benks Biliz cooling charger delivers on its promises. It quickly charged my phone (up to 15 W for Android, 7.5 W for iPhone) while running a fan and Peltier cooler that noticeably kept the phone’s temperature down. The magnetic attachment is rock-solid, and the overall design feels robust. My phone never got uncomfortably hot, and I was able to continue playing games or using GPS without battery drain anxiety. The controls are intuitive, the RGB lights are a fun bonus. I would definitely recommend the Benks Biliz to any heavy smartphone user or gamer who wants faster wireless charging and active cooling in one device. It turned out to be one of those gadgets that exceeded my expectations – fast charging, quiet cooling, and solid build – all while keeping my phone nice and cool.
